We make deals with life to supposedly get what we want and to avoid what we don’t want. They never work out even when we thought they did because we are always dealing with what is unreal, untrue, what will never set us free from our likes and dislikes and what never brings lasting happiness.

We play this unreal, insane, impossible, impractical, unlikely and relentless, imagined game of let’s make a deal, moment by moment, with life and wonder, “why am i not happy?”
